About our Slippers

What size should I buy?

Our slippers are made entirely of flexible yarn that’s why they can accommodate two regular shoe sizes. When in doubt or when you’ve a half size, we’d recommend you choose the smaller size. The yarn will stretch and shape to your feet, but can’t work its magic if the slippers are too big.

Help us get your order right first time by taking a quick foot measurement. Simply draw around your feet on paper, including your longest toe and the base of your heel, then check the length in our size chart. Easy-peasy eh? This simple task can help avoid unnecessary returns and reduce your impact on the planet!

Our slippers are designed to be worn without socks. If you wish to wear with socks, simply measure your feet whilst wearing socks.

For seasoned barefooters, our slippers should be a snug fit to begin with, this allows the flexible yarns to work their magic and mold to the unique shape of your feet. This experience maybe a little different to what you’re used to with other barefoot footwear. The slipper upper will fit around your feet like a second skin giving maximum flexibility. With years of experience, making our product, you can trust us to put the comfort of your feet first.

What is the difference between the slippers in the Comfort Collection?

Light: 75% New Zealand wool and 25% bamboo yarn. Handmade from two strands of yarn for customer wanting to protect their feet without all the full-on cozy.

Classic: 65% New Zealand wool and 35% bamboo yarn. Handmade from four strands of yarn for year-round comfort.

Extra Chunky: 67% New Zealand wool and 33% bamboo yarn. Handmade from six strands of yarn for customers who experience cold feet or want a little extra cushioning under foot.

All our handmade wool slippers are finished with a soft suede leather sole.

I don't have cold feet. Will your slippers be too warm and sweaty?

Nope. Our slippers are made from natural yarns including quality New Zealand wool. Just like a sheep’s fleece, your slippers will keep you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s warm. This is thermoregulation, a unique property of wool. If you're looking for a breathable lightweight slipper without too much cozy, check out our light slippers. They're handmade for two strands of yarn, perfect for warmer climes.

What if I'm allergic to wool?

Natural fibers such as wool rarely lead to contact-allergies. However on sensitive skin, these fibers can occasionally cause itching or irritation. Generally, the better the quality of the wool, the lesser chance of irritation. And we use some of the very best quality yarns in our slippers!

With our 30-day return policy you can buy with confidence, if you're just not feeling it, simply return our product in a like-new condition and receive a refund less any return shipping costs.

Can I wear my slippers outside?

Our slippers are designed for indoor use. We've added a leather sole to protect the wool uppers from wear and tear and to keep you safe on smooth surfaces. However if you need to put thee trash out in your slippers, go for it! But if you're popping to the shops or taking your dog walkies, we’d recommend you slip into some outdoor shoes.

Can I wash my slippers?

Yes. You can machine wash your slippers occasionally using a cool wool program with mild wool detergent. Then simply dry flat, so choose a good drying day. DO NOT tumble dry or your slippers, like any other wool product, will shrink.

Because of the wool’s natural breathability, you’ll find your slippers will remain odor-free and shouldn’t need washing too often.

What's with the shape of the leather sole?

The leather soles follow the shape of your feett: just like the arches of your feet don’t touch the ground, neither will your Kingdom of Wow slippers. Putting on a full-covering sole would have limited the stretching properties of the yarn. For maximum comfort, we prefer the slippers to shape to your feet instead of forcing your feet to fit the shape of the footwear.

About our Espadrilles

How do I choose the right size and model?

Our espadrilles are made in a standard width. They're handmade cotton canvas or denim so will stretch a little with wear. Espadrilles should feel a little snug when first wearing to allow for give in the fabric.

Still not sure of your size? Simply measure your feet by drawing around your feet on paper including the front of your longest toe and the back of your heel bone. Measure the length and use appropriate size chart US Women's or US Men's to confirm your size. Easy! This simple task can help avoid unnecessary returns and reduce your impact on the planet!

For those with a high instep, we recommend the Extra Fit
or Lace Ups designs with flexible comfort on the instep.

We're currently working on production development to create larger sizes across our espadrille collection to accommodate those with larger feet! Watch this space for further news!

What is the difference between the espadrille models?

We offer three different models of espadrille, Classic, Extra Fit and Lace ups.

The Classic design offers a more traditional Mediterranean styled espadrille.

Extra Fit is designed to maximize comfort on the instep with a flexible elastic band.

The Lace up design with tie laces gives a flexible fit on the width and instep.

Can I wear my espadrilles outside?

Yes! Your espadrilles are traditionally worn outdoors. They’re the perfect summer shoe. Go outside and explore with abundance.

How do I clean my espadrilles?

Remove any excess dirt from your espadrilles gently with a soft brush, then clean with a damp cloth using a small amount of mild laundry detergent without bleaching agent. Rinse with a clean cloth and dry naturally.

We don't recommend machine washing or submerging your espadrilles fully in water as this may compromise the adhesive used to attach the jute soles and organic rubber outer.

About Kingdom of Wow

How is your footwear made?

Making our footwear is a labor of love and handmade entirely by our local team in Cambodia.

Our wool slippers are hand-crocheted. The soles are hand-cut and punched from supple leather hide and hand-sewn with care onto the uppers. They’re finished with carefully selected accessories.

The cotton canvas of our espadrilles are hand-cut precisely to strict size patterns. Once machine sewn, the cotton uppers are pinned to the jute soles then hand-sewn together with traditional blanket stitch.

What's with your brand name?

Kingdom of Wow came from a play on the nickname Kingdom of Wonder, by which Cambodia is affectionately known.

What's your commitment to fairtrade and sustainability?

Thanks for asking! We want to make comfortable footwear that helps you relax, but does so responsibly. Fair, safe and healthy work conditions are our top priority and the reason why we operate our own production workshop.

Keeping manufacturing in-house means we don’t just check and monitor, but directly decide: the wages paid, the working environment, the insurances and benefits, and much much more. It also enables us to keep track of our supply chain and monitor suppliers which is probably one of the biggest challenges for conscious brands.

Our intention is to source and produce to leave the smallest footprint as possible. A big goal for a small brand, but we make our choices to consider carefully our impact on the planet. There's no greenwashing here, we're B Corp Certified.
